 Welcome to Pirates! Fact- Types of Piracy.  

 It's not uncommon for the terms pirate, buccaneer, and Corsair to be used without differentiation. Although much of the fundamental meaning of the words are the same, their definitions are quite different. Much worse is the assumption that the words pirate and privateer are of equal meaning- as the difference often determined the fate of many people. 

 Hopefully some of these misconceptions will be cleared after examining the content of this section. You'll also learn about modern day piracy related to software, planes, and even ships!
